Journal ArticleDOI
Gut–Brain Axis as a Pathological and Therapeutic Target for Neurodegenerative Disorders
Alma R. Toledo,Germán Rivera Monroy,Felipe Esparza Salazar,Jea-Young Lee,Shalini Jain,Hariom Yadav,Cesario V. Borlongan +6 more
TL;DR: The evolving notion that GBA stands as an equally sensitive pathological marker of NDDs, particularly in Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and chronic stroke is highlighted, and GBA represents a potent therapeutic target for treating N DDs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Measuring and validation for isothermal solubility data of solid 2-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)-5,6,7,8-tetramethoxychromen-4-one (nobiletin) in supercritical carbon dioxide
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the solubility of nobiletin in supercritical carbon dioxide at temperatures of (313, 323 and 333) K and pressures from (18 to 31) MPa, with a temperature crossover around 18 MPa.
Journal ArticleDOI
Inflammatory gut as a pathologic and therapeutic target in Parkinson’s disease
Jea-Young Lee,Zhen-Jie Wang,Alexa Moscatello,Chase Kingsbury,Blaise Cozene,Jeffrey Farooq,Madeline Saft,Nadia Sadanandan,Bella Gonzales-Portillo,Henry Zhang,Felipe Esparza Salazar,Alma R. Toledo,Germán Rivera Monroy,R. Berlet,Cyndy D. Sanberg,Paul R. Sanberg,Cesario V. Borlongan +16 more
TL;DR: In this article , the role of the gut-brain axis in Parkinson's disease pathology and treatment was assessed in adult transgenic (Tg) α-synuclein-overexpressing mice, which were randomly assigned to either transplantation of vehicle or human umbilical cord blood-derived stem cells and plasma.
