Journal ArticleDOI

Genetic risk for obesity predicts nucleus accumbens size and responsivity to real-world food cues

TL;DR: It is shown that children genetically at risk for obesity exhibit stronger reward-related responses to real-world food cues in the nucleus accumbens, a brain area canonically associated with reward processing, which may contribute to unhealthy eating behaviors later in life.
Journal ArticleDOI

The role of visualization and 3-D printing in biological data mining

TL;DR: 3-D printing has an important role to play as a visualization technology in biological data mining and provided an easily manipulated, intuitive and creative way to visualize the synergistic relationships between the genetic variants and grey matter density in patients with late onset Alzheimer’s disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

Computational genetics analysis of grey matter density in Alzheimer’s disease

TL;DR: A novel bioinformatics analysis pipeline is introduced that embraces the complexity of the genetic architecture of Alzheimer’s disease while at the same time harnessing the power of functional genomics and represents novel hypotheses about the genetic basis of this complex disease.
