Micropropagation of Juniperus phoenicea from adult plant explants and analysis of ploidy stability using flow cytometry

TL;DR: The successful micropropagation of adult Juniperus phoenicea L. with respective ploidy stability studies is reported and the nuclear DNA content of this species was estimated for the first time using flow cytometry.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genetic variability analyses of the somatic embryogenesis induction process in Olea spp. using nuclear microsatellites

TL;DR: The genomic integrities of both O. europaea and O. maderensis were maintained throughout the stages of the embryogenic processes in study suggesting the absence of somaclonal variation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Somatic embryogenesis induction in leaves and petioles of a mature wild olive.

TL;DR: This is the first report of SE expression in explants without rejuvenation in Olea genus, and opens perspectives for using this strategy in SE protocols both for this wild genotype and for commercial genotypes.

Phytotoxicity of lead on Lactuca sativa: effects on growth, mineral nutrition, photosynthetic activity and oxidant metabolism

TL;DR: In this article, Lactuca sativa L. plants were exposed to Pb to contaminated irrigation solutions (12.5 mg l and 125 mg l) for 15 days and the results showed that plant growth, nutritional imbalance, water content, soluble protein content, lipid peroxidation (malondyaldehyde accumulation) and photosynthesis (chlorophyll contents and PSII fluorescence).

Education for sustainable development in East Timor

TL;DR: In this paper, the relevance of education for sustainable development (ESD) in East Timor and proposed a set of ESD indicators to be implemented in the formal education sector in order to assess and monitor if the current national policies, educational programmes, secondary school content, learning goals and activities in formal education express concerns related with ESD promotion in terms of specific curricular themes, learning characteristics, learning resources, skills, values and attitudes.
