New copper(II) complexes of 2-hydroxyacetophenone N(4)-substituted thiosemicarbazones and polypyridyl co-ligands: structural, electrochemical and antimicrobial studies
TL;DR: In this paper, seven new copper(II) complexes of 2-hydroxyacetophenone N(4)-substituted thiosemicarbazones (H2L) and bidentate polypyridyl compounds 2,2′-bipyridine and 1,10-phenanthroline (B) were prepared and characterized.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spectral studies and structure of a 2-hydroxyacetophenone 3-hexamethyleneiminyl thiosemicarbazonate(-2) copper(II) complex containing 1,10-phenanthroline
Rohith P. John,Anandaram Sreekanth,Maliyeckal R. Prathapachandra Kurup,Anwar Usman,Abdul Razak Ibrahim,Hoong-Kun Fun +5 more
TL;DR: The spectral studies and structure of a ternary complex of copper(II) with 2-hydroxyacetophenone 3-hexamethyliminylthiosemicarbazonate (L(2-)) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) are reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Metalloenzyme-inspired catalysis : Selective oxidation of primary alcohols with an iridium-aminyl-radical complex
Martin Königsmann,Nicola Donati,Daniel Stein,Hartmut Schönberg,Jeffrey Harmer,Anandaram Sreekanth,Hansjörg Grützmacher +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, an iridium-nitrogen-radical complex is shown to be a highly active and selective catalyst for the dehydrogenation (oxidation) of primary alcohols to aldehydes in the presence of the oxidant benzoquinone.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and crystal structure of new monometallic and bimetallic copper(II) complexes with N-substituted isatin thiosemicarbazone ligands: Effects of the complexes on DNA/protein-binding property, DNA cleavage study and in vitro anticancer activity
TL;DR: In this article, a series of N-substituted isatin thiosemicarbazone ligands (L1, L2, L3, 2 and 3 ) and their copper(II) complexes [Cu(II)(ITSC)] were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses and UV-Vis, FT-IR, 1 H & 13 C NMR/EPR and mass spectroscopic techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and structural studies of novel Co(III) ternary complexes containing N(4)-substituted thiosemicarbazones of 2-hydroxyacetophenone and heterocyclic bases
TL;DR: An interesting series of eight neutral ternary Co(III) complexes of 2-hydroxyacetophenone N(4)-substituted thiosemicarbazones (H2L), bidentate heterocyclic bases 2,2′-bipyridine (bipy)/1,10-phenanthroline (phen) and azide with a general formula [MLB(N3)] were prepared by means of spectroscopic methods as mentioned in this paper.
