Journal ArticleDOI

Spirooxazines: synthesis, structure, spectral and photochromic properties

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of synthetic approaches to spiro[1,4]oxazines belonging to one of the most promising classes of organic photochromes is presented, where the relationships between the structures of spirooxazines and their spectral properties as well as characteristics of thermal and photoinduced processes are considered.
Journal ArticleDOI

Photochromism and solvatochromism of push–pull or pull–push spiroindolinenaphthoxazines

TL;DR: In this article, the photochromic and solvatochromic behavior of 17 variously substituted spiroindoline naphthoxazines has been investigated in cyclohexane, toluene, acetonitrile and methanol in fluid solution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Luminescent complexes with ligands containing C=N bond

TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis and luminescent properties of complexes with acyclic and cyclic azomethines are considered and generalized and systematized, and the synthesis properties of luminescence complexes with ligands with both types of ligands are compared.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quantitative investigations of cation complexation of photochromic 8-benzothiazole-substituted benzopyran: towards metal-ion sensors.

TL;DR: Results showed that the complexation strength is very sensitive to the size of the indoline nitrogen substituent, which makes these spiropyrans bearing benzothiazole heterocycles promising building blocks for the future construction of photodynamic chemosensors for transition metal ions.
