Journal ArticleDOI

Cross-Linked Enzyme Aggregates: A Simple and Effective Method for the Immobilization of Penicillin Acylase

TL;DR: Penicillin G acylase CLEAs had the same activity in the synthesis of ampicillin as cross-linked crystals of the same enzyme, but the accompanying hydrolysis of the side-chain donor was much less.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enzymatic hydrocyanation of a sterically hindered aldehyde. Optimization of a chemoenzymatic procedure for (R)-2-chloromandelic acid

TL;DR: The asymmetric synthesis of (R)-o-chloromandelic acid, a key intermediate for the anti-thrombotic agent clopidogrel, via the almond meal catalyzed hydrocyanation of 2-chlorobenzaldehyde and subsequent acidic hydrolysis was developed into an industrially viable procedure as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Facile enzymatic aldol reactions with dihydroxyacetone in the presence of arsenate.

TL;DR: Insight is given, for the first time, in the influence of arsenate on the stereoselectivity of the aldol reaction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stereoretentive Nitrile Hydratase-Catalysed Hydration of d-Phenylglycine Nitrile

TL;DR: The hydration of d-phenylglycine Nitrile to the corresponding amide, mediated by nitrile hydratase-containing microorganisms, was studied and batch and fed-batch reactions were compared with regard to degradation and racemisation of the chemically labile substrate.
