Journal ArticleDOI

The era of nitric oxide in plant biology: Twenty years tying up loose ends.

TL;DR: The main discoveries that have emerged at Mar del Plata University over the past 20 years are summarized and discussed, and that have contributed to understand part of the biology of NO in plants.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nitrogen Depletion Blocks Growth Stimulation Driven by the Expression of Nitric Oxide Synthase in Tobacco.

TL;DR: It is proposed that OtNOS might possess a plant growth promoting effect through facilitating N remobilization and nitrate assimilation with potential to improve crop plants performance.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cyanobacterial NOS expression improves nitrogen use efficiency, nitrogen-deficiency tolerance and yield in Arabidopsis

TL;DR: In this paper, the results showed that SyNOS-expressing transgenic Arabidopsis plants have higher primary shoot length and shoot branching when grown under N-deficient conditions.
Posted ContentDOI

Cyanobacterial NOS expression improves nitrogen use efficiency, nitrogen-deficiency tolerance and yield in Arabidopsis

TL;DR: In this article, the authors assessed whether SyNOS expression in plants affects N metabolism improving NUE and yield, and found that transgenic Arabidopsis plants had higher primary shoot length and shoot branching when grown in N-deficient conditions and higher seed production in Nsufficient and -deficient condition.
Journal ArticleDOI

Arginine as the sole nitrogen source for Ostreococcus tauri growth: Insights on nitric oxide synthase enzyme

TL;DR: In this article , the effect of different N sources on the growth of the green algae Ostreococcus tauri was analyzed and it was shown that the addition of L-Arg to an N-deprived medium promotes a sustained growth rate of O. tauri culture and the increase of chlorophyll levels.
