TL;DR: It is found that the detectors of these stimuli arelabelled, in the sense that the observer can distinguish the response of each detector from that of any other, and that the detector form two non-overlapping sets in their selectivity for temporal frequency.

TL;DR: A single channel model is shown to lack the capability to predict the visibility of asynchronous compound gratings, and threshold reductions with a Beta of 3.1 are determined to not be significant enough to warrant adoption of the single channel models predictions.
