Journal ArticleDOI

IgG antibody subclass responses determined by immunoblot in infants' sera following vaccination with a meningococcal recombinant hexavalent PorA OMV vaccine.

TL;DR: In this study, immunoblotting was undertaken with infants' sera following either three or four doses of vaccine, and OMVs from six isogenic meningococcal strains differing only in their PorA serosubtype.

Detection and speciation of campylobacter

Andrew J. Fox, +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a method for detecting Campylobacter by PCR detection of DNA sequence, highly conserved between species lari, coli, jejuni and upsaliensis, is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new bacterial flagellar structure found in campylobacters.

TL;DR: A previously unrecognized bacterial flagellar structure present in Campylobacter jejuni and C. fetus is described in this article, which is disc shaped, approximately 100 nm in diameter and has eleven spokes radiating from a central hole.
Journal ArticleDOI

The development of an inhibition enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay to detect total antibody to the P1.16 subtype antigen of Neisseria meningitidis in human sera

TL;DR: An inhibition ELISA was developed using purified subtype P1.16 protein antigen and a murine monoclonal antibody to this antigen and there is a highly statistically significant correlation between this test and meningococcal disease in Gloucestershire.
