Journal ArticleDOI

OneMap: software for genetic mapping in outcrossing species

TL;DR: OneMap is an environment for constructing linkage maps of outcrossing plant species, using full-sib families derived from two outbred parents, and handles pairwise marker analysis, marker ordering and map refinement.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of RAPD, RFLP, AFLP and SSR markers for diversity studies in tropical maize inbred lines

TL;DR: AFLP seemed to be the best-suited molecular assay for fingerprinting and assessing genetic relationships among tropical maize inbred lines with high accuracy and all the markers showed that they could be useful in predicting single cross performance and heterosis in intrapopulation crosses for broad-based populations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of similarity coefficients used for cluster analysis with dominant markers in maize (Zea mays L)

TL;DR: This study evaluated whether different similarity coefficients used with dominant markers can influence the results of cluster analysis, using eighteen inbred lines of maize from two different populations, BR-105 and BR-106, and showed that for almost all methodologies and marker systems, the Jaccard, Sorensen-Dice, Anderberg and Ochiai coefficient showed close results.
Journal ArticleDOI

Survey in the sugarcane expressed sequence tag database (SUCEST) for simple sequence repeats

TL;DR: The EST-SSRs were found in clusters that had significant homology to proteins involved in important metabolic pathways such as sugar biosynthesis, proving that EST- SSRs are a valuable tool for the construction of a functional sugarcane map.
