Journal ArticleDOI

Heterotopic gastric mucosa of the rectum--characterization of endocrine and mucin-producing cells by immunocytochemistry and lectin histochemistry. Report of a case.

TL;DR: The morphofunctional status of the gastric heterotopia was almost identical to its orthotopic counterpart confirming the hypothesis that endocrine cells and mucin-producing cells differentiate their metabolic products according to the anatomic and functional activity of the epithelium where they grow.
Journal ArticleDOI

Borderline HER‐2 breast cancer cases: Histochemical versus real‐time PCR analysis and impact of different cut‐off values

TL;DR: It is found that the proposed threshold ratio value of ⩾2 is not accurate in separating HER‐2 amplified and non‐amplified cases and it is suggested that the threshold ratiovalue in PCR tests should be determined in each laboratory using FISH controlled cases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Head-to-head comparison of FNA cytology vs. calcitonin measurement in FNA washout fluids (FNA-CT) to diagnose medullary thyroid carcinoma. A systematic review and meta-analysis

TL;DR: In this article, the authors performed a head-to-head comparison meta-analysis between FNA-cytology and calcitonin-based cytology after fine needle aspiration (FNA-CT) in detecting medullary thyroid carcinoma.
Journal ArticleDOI

Carbohydrate histochemistry of human Brunner's glands.

TL;DR: Five peroxidase-labeled lectins on surgical specimens of human duodenum allowed us to identify at least two different types of neutral mucins in Brunner's glands secretion, thus demonstrating a heterogeneous mucin production.
