Journal ArticleDOI

Viburnum opulus L. Juice Phenolics Inhibit Mouse 3T3-L1 Cells Adipogenesis and Pancreatic Lipase Activity

TL;DR: FJ and PJ were able to inhibit pancreatic lipase, which potentially could reduce the fat absorption from the intestinal lumen and the storage of body fat in the adipose tissues, and thirty-two phenolic compounds with chlorogenic acid as the dominant compound were identified in PJ which revealed significant biological activity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of Viburnum opulus fruit extracts on adipogenesis of 3T3-L1 cells and lipase activity

TL;DR: Both extracts had the ability to inhibit adipogenesis process in a dose-dependent manner and SPPE demonstrated synergistic action with orlistat, and both were able to inhibit lipids accumulation and the size of lipid droplets.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of Fruit Extracts on Pancreatic Lipase Activity in Lipid Emulsions

TL;DR: Consumption of chokeberry, red gooseberry and red currant fruits may be a new dietary option for reduction of fat absorption via inhibition of pancreatic lipase in lipid emulsion models.
Journal ArticleDOI

Leonurus cardiaca L. herb--a derived extract and an ursolic acid as the factors affecting the adhesion capacity of Staphylococcus aureus in the context of infective endocarditis.

TL;DR: Inhibitory effects of LCE and UA on staphylococcal adherence to both types of surface were demonstrated and resulted in a significant reduction of biofilm formation.
