Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of Sacubitril-Valsartan Versus Valsartan in Women Compared With Men With Heart Failure and Preserved Ejection Fraction: Insights From PARAGON-HF.
John J.V. McMurray,Alice M Jackson,Carolyn S.P. Lam,Carolyn S.P. Lam,Carolyn S.P. Lam,Margaret M. Redfield,Inder S. Anand,Junbo Ge,Marty P. Lefkowitz,Aldo P. Maggioni,Felipe Martinez,Milton Packer,Marc A. Pfeffer,Burkert Pieske,Adel R. Rizkala,Shalini V. Sabarwal,Amil M. Shah,Sanjiv J. Shah,Victor Shi,Dirk J. van Veldhuisen,Faiez Zannad,Michael R. Zile,Maja Cikes,Eva Goncalvesova,Tzvetana Katova,Annamaria Kosztin,Małgorzata Lelonek,Nancy K. Sweitzer,Orly Vardeny,Brian Claggett,Pardeep S. Jhund,Scott D. Solomon +31 more
TL;DR: As compared with valsartan, sacubitril-valsartan seemed to reduce the risk of heart failure hospitalization more in women than in men, but the present study does not provide a definite mechanistic basis for this finding.
Journal ArticleDOI
Machine learning-based mortality prediction of patients undergoing cardiac resynchronization therapy: the SEMMELWEIS-CRT score
Márton Tokodi,W R Schwertner,Attila Kovács,Zoltán Tősér,Levente Staub,András Sárkány,Bálint Károly Lakatos,A Behon,András Mihály Boros,Péter Perge,Valentina Kutyifa,Valentina Kutyifa,Gábor Széplaki,László Gellér,Béla Merkely,Annamaria Kosztin +15 more
TL;DR: The SEMMELWEIS-CRT score exhibited good discriminative capabilities for the prediction of all-cause death in CRT patients and outperformed the already existing risk scores, and the discrim inative ability of the model was superior to other evaluated scores.
Journal ArticleDOI
Novel coronavirus epidemic in the Hungarian population, a cross-sectional nationwide survey to support the exit policy in Hungary.
Béla Merkely,Attila Szabo,Annamaria Kosztin,Ervin Berényi,Andor Sebestyén,Csaba Lengyel,Gergő Merkely,Gergő Merkely,Júlia Karády,Júlia Karády,István Várkonyi,Csaba Papp,Attila Miseta,József Betlehem,Katalin Burián,Ildikó Csóka,Barna Vásárhelyi,Endre Ludwig,Gyula Prinz,János Sinkó,Balázs Hankó,Péter Varga,Gabor A. Fulop,Kornélia Mag,Zoltán Vokó +24 more
TL;DR: In this representative, cross-sectional survey of the Hungarian population with a high participation rate, the overall active infection rate was low in sync with the prevalence of prior SARS-CoV-2 exposure, demonstrating a potential success of containment efforts, supporting an exit strategy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of cardiac resynchronization therapy with implantable cardioverter defibrillator versus cardiac resynchronization therapy with pacemaker on mortality in heart failure patients: Results of a high-volume, single-centre experience
Valentina Kutyifa,Valentina Kutyifa,László Gellér,Peter Bogyi,Endre Zima,Mehmet K. Aktas,Emin Evren Özcan,Dávid Becker,Vivien Klaudia Nagy,Annamaria Kosztin,Szabolcs Szilágyi,Béla Merkely +11 more
TL;DR: There are limited and contradictory data on the effects of CRT with implantable cardioverter defibrillator (CRT‐D) on mortality as compared withCRT with pacemaker ( CRT‐P).
Journal ArticleDOI
Quantification of the relative contribution of the different right ventricular wall motion components to right ventricular ejection fraction: the ReVISION method
Bálint Károly Lakatos,Zoltán Tősér,Márton Tokodi,Alexandra Doronina,Annamaria Kosztin,Denisa Muraru,Luigi P. Badano,Attila Kovács,Béla Merkely +8 more
TL;DR: The ReVISION (Right VentrIcular Separate wall motIon quantificatiON) method may contribute to a better understanding of the pathophysiology of RV mechanical adaptations to different loading conditions and diseases.
