TL;DR: As compared with valsartan, sacubitril-valsartan seemed to reduce the risk of heart failure hospitalization more in women than in men, but the present study does not provide a definite mechanistic basis for this finding.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of peripartum cardiomyopathy: a position statement from the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology Study Group on peripartum cardiomyopathy

TL;DR: This updated position statement summarizes the knowledge about pathophysiological mechanisms, risk factors, clinical presentation, diagnosis and management of peripartum cardiomyopathy and the important role of education and counselling around contraception and future pregnancies is emphasised.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: The efficacy and safety of dapagliflozin were consistent across the diuretic subgroups examined in DAPA-HF, and mean diurtic dose did not differ between the dAPaglif Lozin and placebo groups after randomization.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term prognosis, subsequent pregnancy, contraception and overall management of peripartum cardiomyopathy: Practical guidance paper from the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology Study Group on Peripartum Cardiomyopathy
Karen Sliwa,Mark C. Petrie,Denise Hilfiker-Kleiner,Alexandre Mebazaa,Alice M Jackson,Mark R. Johnson,Peter van der Meer,Amam Mbakwem,Johann Bauersachs +8 more
TL;DR: Based on the best available evidence, as well as the clinical experience of the European Society of Cardiology Study Group on Peripartum Cardiomyopathy members, a consensus on pre‐ and postpartum management algorithms for women undergoing a subsequent pregnancy is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

McMurray,Johann Bauersachs +23 more
TL;DR: Peripartum cardiomyopathy is a global disease, but clinical presentation and outcomes vary by region, and just under half of women experience myocardial recovery.
