Journal ArticleDOI
Role of cannabinoid CB1 receptors and tumor necrosis factor‐α in the gut and systemic anti‐inflammatory activity of SR 141716 (Rimonabant) in rodents
TL;DR: Evidence is provided that the indomethacin model of intestinal lesions differs in rat and mouse and support the existence of several mechanisms for the antiulcer activity of SR141716, the most important involving the inhibition of TNF production.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of the 5-Hydroxytryptamine Receptor Modulating the Release of 5-[3H]Hydroxytryptamine in Slices of the Human Neocortex
Anne-Marie Galzin,M. F. Poirier,Alvaro Lista,J. P. Chodkiewicz,Pierre Blier,R. Ramdine,H. Loô,F. X. Roux,A. Redondo,Salomon Z. Langer +9 more
TL;DR: Preliminary results obtained with idazoxan confirm the existence of a presynaptic α2‐adrenoceptor modulating the release of [3H]5‐HT in the human neocortex, and support the view that the 5‐HT receptor modulation the electrically evoked release of[3H], in slices of thehuman neocortex could be of the 5-HT1D subtype.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reduced Bmax of [3H]-imipramine binding to platelets of depressed patients free of previous medication with 5HT uptake inhibitors
M. F. Poirier,Chawki Benkelfat,Henri Lôo,Daniel Sechter,Edouard Zarifian,Anne-Marie Galzin,Salomon Z. Langer +6 more
TL;DR: The view that platelet [3H]-IMI binding is a useful tool as a biological marker in depression is supported, with a significant decrease by 47% in the Bmax in platelets of untreated depressed patients when compared with controls.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lack of seasonal variation in platelet [3H]imipramine binding in humans.
TL;DR: Results indicate that in the control population, the platelet [3H]IMI binding parameters remain stable, and that the decrease in Bmax observed in depressed untreated patients reflects a genuine difference, which may be considered to be a biological marker in depression.
Journal ArticleDOI
Changes in [3H]5-HT uptake and [3H]imipramine binding in platelets after chlorimipramine in healthy volunteers. Comparison with maprotiline and amineptine.
M. F. Poirier,Anne-Marie Galzin,Henri Lôo,C. Pimoule,A. Segonzac,Chawki Benkelfat,Daniel Sechter,E. Zarifian,H. Schoemaker,Salomon Z. Langer +9 more
TL;DR: In the platelets of normal healthy volunteers (n = 8) taking chlorimipramine for 1 week, the saturable uptake of [3H]5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) was fully inhibited at the end of the week, but returned to control values after 2 weeks washout.
