Abstract Poultry production significantly contributes to bridging the food gap worldwide. Several nations have limited the usage of antibiotic growth promotors due to bacterial resistance to antibiotics and the occurrence of residual antibiotics in the edible tissues of birds. The world is now turning to using natural alternatives to increase poultry production as well as birds’ resistance to diseases. Withania somnifera (WS; family: Solanaceae) is a precious medicinal herb utilized in several countries due to its distinct chemical, medicinal, and physiological properties. This plant has antioxidant, anti-aging, antimicrobial, antitumor, hepatoprotective, cardioprotective, neuroprotective, immunomodulatory, antidiabetic, antistress, and growth-promoting activities. In poultry, the dietary inclusion of WS revealed a promising result in enhancing productive performance, increasing disease resistance, reducing stress effects, and maintaining the bird’s health. Thus, the current review highlights the morphological features, distribution, chemical structure, and pharmacological features of Withania somnifera as a growth promoter herb for farming broiler chickens.

Withania somnifera as a phytoherbal growth promoter for broilers farming

In this study an attempt was made to study the effect of UV-B for short duration on the callus culture of Bacopa monnieri by its qualitative and quantitative analysis using Thin layer chromatography and High performance liquid chromatography . Bacopa monnieri L.Pennell is an important medicinal plant Which belongs to family Plantaginaceae It is rich in innumerable bioactive secondary metabolites especially which are used as neuro tonic and treatment for depression, mental health and to increase cognitive performance . Five different callus culture groups were made on the basis of different concentrations of PGRs and each group had both non treated and UV treated sets in both the sets MS media was supplemented with different concentrations of PGRs. The non treated groups were maintained for 8 weeks without UV-B exposure but in the treated groups the cultures were maintained for 7 weeks and in the 8 th week UV-B radiation were given for a period of 2hours/day Among all the 5 groups the best response were found in the group in which MS media was supplemented with 0.1mg/L of 2,4-D and BAP so these sets were taken for phytochemical studies . According to the present studies it was found that tissue culture and UV-B supplementation for short duration enhanced the secondary metabolite Bacoside which is a triterpenoid saponin and is responsible for the nootropic activity of the plant .When both the groups were compared the UV treated groups showed increased number of peaks as well as area in HPLC analysis and high range of saponins were detected in TLC analysis of UV treated callus extracts.

Secondary metabolite contents of W. somnifera varied remarkably between seasons and genotypes under ex vitro condition. In vitro studies provide an optimum culture condition for steady and quality production of bioactive chemicals throughout the year without involvement of environmental stresses. Mass production of micro-shoots and plantlets by exploring the organogenic totipotency of shoot tip explants (ex vitro and in vitro grown) considering two elite genotypes (Poshita and Jawahar 22) of W. somnifera, and assessment of their capability in production and accumulation of bioactive metabolites (total alkaloid and withanolides amount were quantified; withanolide A and withaferin A contents were estimated by High Performance Liquid Chromatography-HPLC).

The electrical and electronic waste (e-waste) is one of the fastest growing wastes in India. The Increasing “market penetration” in developing countries, and “high obsolescence rate” make e-waste as one of the fastest growing waste streams. The e-waste has become a matter of concern because of the presence of toxic and hazardous substances present in electronic goods and if not properly managed, it can have adverse effects on environment. Environmental issues and trade associated with e-waste has driven many countries to introduce interventions. Hence, there is strong need to adopt sustainability practices to tackle the growing threat of e-waste. This paper is based on secondary data which study the e-waste composition, Global and Indian e-waste scenarios and different hazardous materials found in the e-waste, Best Available Practices to find the hazardous materials, guideline for the manufacturer and public awareness about the proper disposal of e-waste. Rapid changes in technology, changes in media (tapes, software, MP3), falling prices, and planned obsolescence have resulted in a fast-growing surplus of electronic waste around the globe. This paper presents an overview of the problem and suggests some concrete solutions to tackle the issue.

Primary inventorization of electronic waste in Rewa Madhya Pradesh

Vindhyan region has rich biodiversity. This region provides shelter to various plant species that belong to the lower and higher groups. It is interesting to note that in the area, proportionally it genera is relatively richer than species. In comparison to angiosperms plant diversity the pteridophytes are not rich in the area. The tribes and poor of this region are partially or completely dependent on forest product for their survival. These people have assimilated unique knowledge about the surrounding plant wealth. This indigenous knowledge is a potential tool in searching for new economic plants for food and medicines. They protect and conserve biodiversity of forest and by their cultural activities they also enrich the soil fertility. In the present study wild pteridophytes species which are normally growing in the wild habitat were taken into the consideration for assessing the eco-medicinal uses of different type of pteridophytes. Eco medicinal importance of pteridophytes and existence of greater biomolecules is already studied by many previous workers. Inspite of medicinal and ecological importance the medicinal plants have also been considered for present study.

Study of climatology of area of Vindhyan region (M.P.) for wild pteridophytes

Experimental and Computational Analysis of Household Cook Stoves: A Review

Mukundpur forest range is situated in Amarpatan Tahsil of Satna district of Madhya Pradesh India. Thisstudy area is under high ecological stress for mining purposes. For assessment of biodiversity vegetation sampling was done. The calculation of frequency, density and IVI (Important value Index) for the species of herbs have been done. The threat and conservation status is assessed by Normal Distribution Principle. In the present study the 20 herbs species have been found. There are no species of herbsin Category-4. The 5 species which are Category-3 are Mimosa pudica, Sida veronicaefolia, Sida cordifolia, Solanum xanthocarpum and Rauwolfia serpentine. These species needed more attention locally in the study area. The MP Biodiversity board has suggested that species of Rauwolfia serpentina is in critically endangered state in Vindhyan region and the results of IVI also confirm the same as that it is in conservation and threat status of category 3.
