TL;DR: The recommendations emphasize the increased cancer risk in patients with gastric atrophy and metaplasia and the need for adequate staging in the case of high-grade dysplasia, and they focus on treatment and surveillance indications and methods.
Journal ArticleDOI
Treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection.
TL;DR: If compliance is good and a clear treatment paradigm adhered to, almost universal eradication rates can still be achieved, if compliance is not achievable, the problem of antibiotic resistance will continue to beset any combination of drugs used for H. pylori eradication.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sequential therapy for Helicobacter pylori eradication: a critical review.
TL;DR: Sequential therapy is a novel promising treatment approach that deserves consideration as a treatment strategy for H. pylori infection, but further robust assessment across a much broader range of patients is required before sequential therapy could supplant existing treatment regimens and be generally recommended in clinical practice.
Journal ArticleDOI
Population screening and treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection
TL;DR: Economic analyses suggest that eradication of H. pylori as a means of controlling gastric cancer is cost-effective in high-risk populations, and public health authorities have been slow to consider the benefits of population-based screening and treatment as a Means of reducing the morbidity and mortality associated with the infection.
