Autologous Pancreatic Islet Transplantation in Human Bone Marrow

TL;DR: The encouraging results of this pilot study provide new perspectives in identifying alternative sites for islet infusion in patients with type 1 diabetes and the first unequivocal example of successful engraftment of endocrine tissue in the BM in humans.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reduced intrahepatic fat content is associated with increased whole-body lipid oxidation in patients with type 1 diabetes

TL;DR: Diabetic patients had reduced intrahepatic fat content, which was associated with increased fasting lipid oxidation, and the unbalanced hepatic glucagon and insulin concentrations affecting patients with type 1 diabetes may be involved in this abnormality of intra hepatic lipid metabolism.
Journal ArticleDOI

Apparent diffusion coefficient value and ratio as noninvasive potential biomarkers to predict prostate cancer grading: comparison with prostate biopsy and radical prostatectomy specimen.

TL;DR: Investigation of diffusion-weighted MRI and prostate cancer Gleason score at both biopsy and final pathologic analysis after radical prostatectomy found decreasing ADC values may represent a strong risk factor of harboring a poorly differentiated prostate cancer, independently of biopsy characteristics.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heart and Lung Multimodality Imaging in COVID-19.

TL;DR: Aim of this review is to summarize imaging-oriented pathophysiological mechanisms of lung and cardiac involvement in COVID-19 and to provide a guide for an integrated imaging assessment in these patients.
