TL;DR: This document reflects the overall results of the first consensus conference on “point-of-care” lung ultrasound and utilizes the RAND appropriateness method for panel judgment and decisions/consensus.
Journal ArticleDOI
European Association of Echocardiography recommendations for the assessment of valvular regurgitation. Part 2: mitral and tricuspid regurgitation (native valve disease)
Patrizio Lancellotti,L uis Moura,Luc Pierard,Eustachio Agricola,Bogdan A. Popescu,Christophe Tribouilloy,Andreas Hagendorff,Jean-Luc Monin,Rosa Sicari,Alec Vahanian +9 more
TL;DR: Standards for the assessment of mitral and tricuspid regurgitation are provided to understand mechanisms of Regurgitation, quantification of its severity and repercussions.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: Sinus rhythm can be maintained long term in the majority of patients with chronic atrial fibrillation by means of circumferential pulmonary-vein ablation independently of the effects of antiarrhythmic-drug therapy, cardioversion, or both.
Journal ArticleDOI
Usefulness of Ultrasound Lung Comets as a Nonradiologic Sign of Extravascular Lung Water
Zoltán Jambrik,Simonetta Monti,Vincenzo Coppola,Eustachio Agricola,G. Mottola,Massimo Miniati,Eugenio Picano +6 more
TL;DR: The comet-tail is a simple, non-time-consuming, and reasonably accurate chest ultrasound sign of extravascular lung water that can be obtained at bedside (also with portable echocardiographic equipment) and is not restricted by cardiac acoustic window limitations.
