Journal ArticleDOI
Application of coal fly ash in pavement subgrade stabilisation: A review.
TL;DR: In this article , a review of fly ash stabilisation on various clay types, including low plasticity clays, high plasticity cation exchange, silty clays and peats, is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Morphology of char particles from coal pyrolysis in a pressurized entrained flow reactor: Effects of pressure and atmosphere
Jiaye Zhang,Tami Borneman,Chongming Chen,Ao Zhou,Zia ur Rahman,Xuebin Wang,Dragoslava Stojiljković,Nebojša Manić,Milan Vujanović,Houzhang Tan +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the pyrolysis behavior of bituminous and lignite coal at elevated pressure was studied in a drop tube furnace, and the results showed that the pressure, atmosphere and coal rank could effect on the volatile releasing and char evolution significantly.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ash fusion and mineral evolution during the co-firing of coal and municipal sewage sludge in power plants
Ao Zhou,Xuebin Wang,Aneta Magdziarz,Shilin Yu,Shuanghui Deng,Jin Bai,Qingfu Zhang,Houzhang Tan +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the melting characteristics and composition of ash obtained from raw coal and MSS at different mixing ratios and various temperatures are analyzed by ash fusion point determination meters, XRF and XRD, and the mineral evolution is simulated by Factsage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Submicron particle formation from co-firing of coal and municipal sewage sludge.
Ao Zhou,W. T. Ma,Renhui Ruan,Shilin Y. Yu,Houzhang Tan,Shuanghui Deng,Kun Liang,Donglin Han,Xuebin Wang +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the formation characteristics of submicron particles in the co-firing process of coal and sludge were studied in a drop tube furnace, and the influence of the furnace temperature and the addition ratio of sludge on the particle size distribution and element composition of sub-micron particle in MSS, pulverized coal combustion, and cofiring was mainly studied.
Journal ArticleDOI
Migration characteristics and ecological risk assessment of heavy metals in ash from sewage sludge co-combustion in coal-fired power plants
TL;DR: In this article , the potential ecological risks of fly ash and bottom ash from co-combustion in three coal-fired power plants were evaluated using the ecological risk index assessment method.
