TL;DR: This study is a current review of the literature focused on the physiological role of apoptosis in normal endometrium and the alterations in regulation of apoptotic activity in eutopic and ectopic endometricrium from women with endometriosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Impact of Adenomyosis on Women's Fertility.
Tasuku Harada,Yin Mon Khine,Apostolos Kaponis,Theocharis Nikellis,George Decavalas,Fuminori Taniguchi +5 more
TL;DR: The hypothesis and epidemiology of adenomyosis is recalled, diagnostic techniques are discussed, and clinical evidence of correlation between adenomosis and infertility and infertility is shown, as well as the proposed mechanism of infertility in women with adenomeosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Endothelial Function, But Not Carotid Intima-Media Thickness, Is Affected Early in Menopause and Is Associated with Severity of Hot Flushes
Aris Bechlioulis,Sophia N. Kalantaridou,Katerina K. Naka,Anthoula Chatzikyriakidou,Karim A. Calis,Antonis Makrigiannakis,Odysseas Papanikolaou,Apostolos Kaponis,Christos S. Katsouras,Ioannis Georgiou,George P. Chrousos,Lampros K. Michalis +11 more
TL;DR: Impairment of endothelial function is present in the early menopausal years, whereas carotid IMT is not affected and the studied ER polymorphisms do not offer important information on vascular health in early menopause.
Journal ArticleDOI
Apoptosis and endometriosis.
Fuminori Taniguchi,Apostolos Kaponis,Masao Izawa,Tomoiki Kiyama,Imari Deura,Masayuki Ito,Tomio Iwabe,George Adonakis,Naoki Terakawa,Tasuku Harada +9 more
TL;DR: R role of apoptosis in the treatment of endometriosis is reviewed to link the basic research findings into clinical applications and the alterations in regulation of apoptOS in eutopic and ectopic endometrium from women with endometiosis are reviewed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Morphometric and cytogenetic characteristics of testicular germ cells and Sertoli cell secretory function in men with non-mosaic Klinefelter's syndrome.
TL;DR: It is suggested that few 46,XXY spermatogonia undergo meiosis with an XX pairing and a Y univalent type of pairing and there are several defects in sperm morphometry with functional significance in men with Klinefelter's syndrome.
