Journal ArticleDOI

On the HHT, its problems, and some solutions

TL;DR: In this paper, the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) is reviewed and some questions related to its effective performance are discussed, and solutions for its drawbacks are proposed, and numerical simulations are carried out to empirically evaluate the proposed modified EMD.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the relation between the fractional Brownian motion and the fractional derivatives

TL;DR: In this article, the authors considered the definition and simulation of fractional Brownian motion from the point of view of a set of coherent fractional derivative definitions and showed that the corresponding autocorrelation functions have the same representations.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Fractional Linear System View of the Fractional Brownian Motion

TL;DR: In this article, a definition of fractional Brownian motion based on fractional differintegrator characteristics is proposed and studied, and a discrete time version based in the backward difference and in the bilinear transformation is considered.
Journal ArticleDOI

A multichannel time-frequency and multi-wavelet toolbox for uterine electromyography processing and visualisation

TL;DR: The presented toolbox has been tested to build up a dictionary of 288 EHG components, useful for research in preterm labour prediction, and the starting point is the multichannel scalogram or spectrogram representation from which frequency and time marginals, instantaneous frequency and bandwidth are obtained as EhG features.
