Journal ArticleDOI
Type and frequency of IDH1 and IDH2 mutations are related to astrocytic and oligodendroglial differentiation and age: a study of 1,010 diffuse gliomas.
Christian Hartmann,Christian Hartmann,Jochen Meyer,Jörg Balss,David Capper,Wolf Mueller,Arne Christians,Jörg Felsberg,Marietta Wolter,Christian Mawrin,Wolfgang Wick,Michael Weller,Christel Herold-Mende,Andreas Unterberg,Judith W. M. Jeuken,Peter Wesseling,Guido Reifenberger,Andreas von Deimling,Andreas von Deimling +18 more
TL;DR: An inverse association of IDH1 and IDH2 mutations of the R132C type are strongly associated with astrocytoma, while IDH 2 mutations predominantly occur in oligodendroglial tumors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Combined molecular analysis of BRAF and IDH1 distinguishes pilocytic astrocytoma from diffuse astrocytoma
Andrey Korshunov,Andrey Korshunov,Jochen Meyer,David Capper,Arne Christians,Marc Remke,Hendrik Witt,Stefan M. Pfister,Stefan M. Pfister,Andreas von Deimling,Andreas von Deimling,Christian Hartmann,Christian Hartmann +12 more
TL;DR: Combined molecular analysis of BRAF and IDH1 is a sensitive and highly specific approach to separate pilocytic astrocytoma from diffuse astroCytoma.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic Value of Three Different Methods of MGMT Promoter Methylation Analysis in a Prospective Trial on Newly Diagnosed Glioblastoma
Arne Christians,Christian Hartmann,Axel Benner,Jochen Meyer,Andreas von Deimling,Andreas von Deimling,Michael Weller,Michael Weller,Wolfgang Wick,Wolfgang Wick,Wolfgang Wick,Markus Weiler,Markus Weiler,Markus Weiler +13 more
TL;DR: The results show that, unlike MS-MLPA, MSP and PSQ provide a significant improvement of predicting PFS compared with established clinical prognostic factors alone (likelihood ratio tests: p<0.001), and recommend pyrosequencing for analyses of MGMT promoter methylation in high-throughput settings and MSP for clinical routine diagnostics with low sample numbers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Frequency of BRAF V600E mutations in 969 central nervous system neoplasms.
Felix Behling,Alonso Barrantes-Freer,Marco Skardelly,Maike Nieser,Arne Christians,Florian Stockhammer,Veit Rohde,Marcos Tatagiba,Christian Hartmann,Christine Stadelmann,Jens Schittenhelm +10 more
TL;DR: Routine screening for BRAF V600E mutations for glioblastomas WHO grade IV below the age of 30 is suggested, especially in gliOBlastomas with epithelioid features and in all rhabdoid meningiomasWHO grade III.
Journal ArticleDOI
No prognostic value of IDH1 mutations in a series of 100 WHO grade II astrocytomas
Rezvan Ahmadi,Florian Stockhammer,Natalia Becker,Katarina Hohlen,Martin Misch,Arne Christians,Christine Dictus,Christel Herold-Mende,David Capper,David Capper,Andreas Unterberg,Andreas von Deimling,Andreas von Deimling,Wolfgang Wick,Christian Hartmann +14 more
TL;DR: The prognostic value of IDH1 mutations in low-grade astrocytomas is rather low compared with that in high-grade gliomas, and there were no significant differences regarding PFS, TtMP, and OS between patients with and without IDH 1 mutations who did not receive adjuvant treatment.
