Journal ArticleDOI
Prototype experience for MIMO BLAST over third-generation wireless system
A. Adjoudani,E.C. Beck,Andreas Burg,Djuknic Goran,T.G. Gvoth,D. Haessig,S. Manji,M.A. Milbrodt,Markus Rupp,Dragan Samardzija,Arnold Siegel,Tod Sizer,Cuong Tran,Susan J. Walker,Stephen A. Wilkus,P.W. Wolniansky +15 more
TL;DR: A multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) extension for a third-generation (3G) wireless system is described and different MIMO detectors are evaluated, comparing their performance and complexity.

Method and apparatus for cellular communication over data networks
Peretz Moshes Feder,Jungsang Kim,Zhengxiang Ma,Anatoli Olkhovets,Arnold Siegel,II Theodore Sizer,Michael George Zierdt +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, an in-building gigabit Ethernet network, such as that currently existing presently in many buildings, is used to distribute radio signals indoors, where coded baseband signals generated by the coding processor (e.g., a CDMA Modem Unit) in the base station are packetized and sent over the Ethernet network to radio processing equipment and antennas distributed throughout the building.

Enabling a digital wireless service for a mobile station across two different wireless communications environments
TL;DR: In this article, a method and an apparatus for enabling a digital wireless service across a first and a second wireless communications environment is provided for enabling in-flight use of a mobile station to communicate with one or more base stations on the ground.
Journal IssueDOI
RADIOSTAR: Providing wireless coverage over Gigabit ethernet
Zhengxiang Ma,Michael George Zierdt,John Z. Pastalan,Arnold Siegel,Tod Sizer,Adriaan J. De Lind Van Wijngaarden,Praveen R. Kasireddy,Dragan Samardzija +7 more
TL;DR: It is shown how handoffs and precise frequency synchronization and timing control over a Gigabit Ethernet network can be established in such a way that the most stringent requirements of cellular communication air interfaces are satisfied.
