Regulation of Mitochondrial Biogenesis as a Way for Active Longevity: Interaction Between the Nrf2 and PGC-1α Signaling Pathways
TL;DR: In this review, recent data is summarized on the Nrf2 role in mitochondrial biogenesis and its interaction with PGC-1α in the context of extending longevity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Crosstalk between the mTOR and Nrf2/ARE signaling pathways as a target in the improvement of long-term potentiation.
TL;DR: The crosstalk between the Nrf2/ARE signaling and mTOR in the maintenance of synaptic plasticity is discussed and the activation of this pathway improves memory and exhibits therapeutic effect in AD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nrf2/ARE Pathway as a Therapeutic Target for the Treatment of Parkinson Diseases.
Artem P. Gureev,Vasily N. Popov +1 more
TL;DR: The Nrf2/ARE signaling cascade is an optimal target for drugs that could support the mitochondrial quality control, which, in combination with antioxidant protection, can significantly slow down the pathogenesis of PD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Simplified qPCR method for detecting excessive mtDNA damage induced by exogenous factors.
TL;DR: The modified PCR method is simpler and more selective to the specific sites of damage in mtDNA, and it is demonstrated that H2O2-induced mtDNA damage facilitates the relaxation of mtDNA supercoiled conformation, making the sequences with minimal damage more accessible to DNA polymerase, which results in a decrease in threshold cycle value.
Journal ArticleDOI
p62-Nrf2-p62 Mitophagy Regulatory Loop as a Target for Preventive Therapy of Neurodegenerative Diseases
TL;DR: The purpose of this review is to describe the p62-Nrf2-p62 regulatory loop and to evaluate its role in the regulation of mitophagy under various physiological conditions.
