Journal ArticleDOI

Study of a hybrid solar system—solar air heater combined with solar cells

TL;DR: In this paper, a hybrid system, which is a combination of an air heater and photovoltaic system is analyzed, and the optimum area of the solar cells necessary to generate sufficient electrical energy for the pump is calculated for different configurations of the air heater.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of plane booster reflectors on the performance of a solar air heater with solar cells suitable for a solar dryer

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented a theoretical study of a solar photovoltaic-thermal (hybrid) system consisting of a flat-plate solar air heater mounted with solar cells and a plane booster.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of the performance of air heaters of conventional designs

TL;DR: In this article, the transient equations of three types of air heaters are written and their solutions are attempted and the effect of flow rate, plate length, selective coating, etc.
Journal ArticleDOI

A solar water heater based on phase-changing material

TL;DR: In this article, a water heater utilizing a material which changes phase for storage of solar energy is discussed, and transient analysis is carried out by replacing the solid-liquid block of the phase-changing material by a fictitious solid and assuming that the solid liquid boundary remains stationary throughout the day.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Two-Pass Solar Air Heater

TL;DR: In this paper, an air heater in which the air first flows between metallic and cover plates and is then made to flow between two metallic plates in opposite direction is discussed theoretically, and the governing equations of the model are solved explicitly under suitable conditions.
