Journal ArticleDOI
IL-6 Secreted from Cancer-Associated Fibroblasts Mediates Chemoresistance in NSCLC by Increasing Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition Signaling.
Yasushi Shintani,Ayako Fujiwara,Toru Kimura,Tomohiro Kawamura,Soichiro Funaki,Masato Minami,Meinoshin Okumura +6 more
TL;DR: IL‐6 may contribute to maintenance of a paracrine loop that functions as part of the communication between CAFs and NSCLC cells, resulting in chemoresistance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Occult mediastinal lymph node metastasis in NSCLC patients diagnosed as clinical N0-1 by preoperative integrated FDG-PET/CT and CT: Risk factors, pattern, and histopathological study.
Ryu Kanzaki,Masahiko Higashiyama,Ayako Fujiwara,Toshiteru Tokunaga,Jun Maeda,Jiro Okami,Takenori Kozuka,Takuya Hosoki,Yoshihisa Hasegawa,Motohisa Takami,Yasuhiko Tomita,Ken Kodama +11 more
TL;DR: Adenocarcinoma, tumors located in the upper or middle lobe, tumor size >3 cm, and SUV(max) of primary tumor >4.0 g/ml are risk factors for occult MLN metastasis in patients with NSCLC who were diagnosed as clinical N0-1 by preoperative integrated FDG-PET/CT and CT.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term results of surgical resection for pulmonary metastasis from renal cell carcinoma: a 25-year single-institution experience
Ryu Kanzaki,Masahiko Higashiyama,Ayako Fujiwara,Toshiteru Tokunaga,Jun Maeda,Jiro Okami,Kazuo Nishimura,Ken Kodama +7 more
TL;DR: Surgical resection of pulmonary metastasis from RCC has a favourable outcome in selected patients, DFI and completeness of resection are prognostic markers for survival after pulmonary metastasectomy and repeat lung resection for metastatic RCC is a safe procedure that provides satisfactory patient outcomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Outcome of surgical resection for recurrent pulmonary metastasis from colorectal carcinoma
Ryu Kanzaki,Masahiko Higashiyama,Kazuyuki Oda,Ayako Fujiwara,Toshiteru Tokunaga,Jun Maeda,Jiro Okami,Koji Tanaka,Tatsushi Shingai,Shingo Noura,Masayuki Ohue,Ken Kodama +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the outcomes after repeat pulmonary resection for colorectal cancer (CRC) and the factors associated with the prognosis of these patients remain uncharacterized.
Journal ArticleDOI
Brain metastasis from colorectal cancer: prognostic factors and survival.
Shingo Noura,Masayuki Ohue,Tatsushi Shingai,Ayako Fujiwara,Shinya Imada,Toshinori Sueda,Terumasa Yamada,Yoshiyuki Fujiwara,Hiroaki Ohigashi,Masahiko Yano,Osamu Ishikawa +10 more
TL;DR: The median survival for patients with brain metastasis (BM) from colorectal cancer (CRC) is short as mentioned in this paper, and the prognosis of patients with BM from CRC was associated with the curability of the therapy for BM, number of metastatic organs, and the serum CEA level.
