Journal ArticleDOI
High Systemic Immune-Inflammation Index is an Adverse Prognostic Factor for Patients With Gastroesophageal Adenocarcinoma.
Gerd Jomrich,Matthias Paireder,Ivan Kristo,Andreas Baierl,Ayseguel Ilhan-Mutlu,Matthias Preusser,Reza Asari,Sebastian F. Schoppmann +7 more
TL;DR: Elevated SII is an independent adverse prognostic factor in patients with resectable gastroesophageal adenocarcinomas with and without neoadjuvant treatment, and in multivariable survival analysis, SII remained an independent prognostic factors for overall survival and disease-free survival.
Journal ArticleDOI
ALK gene translocations and amplifications in brain metastases of non-small cell lung cancer.
Matthias Preusser,Anna S. Berghoff,Ayseguel Ilhan-Mutlu,Manuel Magerle,Carina Dinhof,Georg Widhalm,Karin Dieckmann,Christine Marosi,Adelheid Wöhrer,Monika Hackl,Sabine Zöchbauer-Müller,Andreas von Deimling,Sebastian F. Schoppmann,Christoph C. Zielinski,Berthold Streubel,Peter Birner,Peter Birner +16 more
TL;DR: While ALK translocations appear to be constant between primary tumors and BM, amplifications seem to be more prevalent in BM.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification and characterization of cancer cells that initiate metastases to the brain and other organs
Anna S. Berghoff,Anna S. Berghoff,Anna S. Berghoff,Yunxiang Liao,Yunxiang Liao,Matthia A. Karreman,Matthia A. Karreman,Ayseguel Ilhan-Mutlu,Katharina Gunkel,Katharina Gunkel,Martin R. Sprick,Christian Eisen,Tobias Kessler,Tobias Kessler,Matthias Osswald,Matthias Osswald,Susanne Wünsche,Susanne Wünsche,Manuel Feinauer,Manuel Feinauer,Brunhilde Gril,Frederic Marmé,Laura Michel,Zuszanna Bago-Horvath,Felix Sahm,Felix Sahm,Natalia Becker,Michael O. Breckwoldt,Gergely Solecki,Gergely Solecki,Miriam Gömmel,Miriam Gömmel,Lulu Huang,Lulu Huang,Petra Rübmann,Carina M. Thome,Miriam Ratliff,Miriam Ratliff,Andreas Trumpp,P. S. Steeg,Matthias Preusser,Wolfgang Wick,Wolfgang Wick,Frank Winkler,Frank Winkler +44 more
TL;DR: The data identify temporary slow-cycling breast cancer cells as the dominant source of brain and other metastases and demonstrates that this can lead to better understanding of BMIC-relevant pathways, including potential new approaches to prevent BM in patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of microRNA expression levels between initial and recurrent glioblastoma specimens.
Ayseguel Ilhan-Mutlu,Adelheid Wöhrer,Anna S. Berghoff,Georg Widhalm,Christine Marosi,Ludwig Wagner,Matthias Preusser +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors performed a comprehensive literature search to identify microRNAs with potential relevance for glioblastoma pathobiology by means of RT-qPCR.
Journal ArticleDOI
Frequent overexpression of ErbB--receptor family members in brain metastases of non-small cell lung cancer patients.
Anna S. Berghoff,Manuel Magerle,Ayseguel Ilhan-Mutlu,Carina Dinhof,Georg Widhalm,Karin Dieckman,Christine Marosi,Adelheid Wöhrer,Monika Hackl,Sabine Zöchbauer-Müller,Matthias Preusser,Peter Birner +11 more
TL;DR: No statistically significant correlation of EGFR, HER2 or HER3 overexpression with clinico‐pathological parameters including overall survival times was observed and the role of the ErbB pathway in development of and as a therapeutic target in BM of NSCLC patients should be investigated.
