Phytochemical analysis and standardization of Strychnos nux-vomica extract through HPTLC techniques

TL;DR: In this paper, a noval qualitative and quantitative method was developed to determine different phytoconstituents of Strychnos nux-vomica L extract.
Journal ArticleDOI

Studies on the antimicrobial potential of Mahonia leschenaultii Takeda root and root bark

TL;DR: In this article, methanol extracts of Mahonia leschenaultii takeda (Berberidaceae) root and root bark were tested for antibacterial potential against Escherichia coli (NCIM 2068), Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and Staphylon epidermitis on nutrient agar medium and nutrient broth using ampicillin trihydrate as standard drug.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of Gymnema sylvestre extract on the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of glimepiride in streptozotocin induced diabetic rats.

TL;DR: Con-comitant oral administration of G. sylvestre extract and GLM in diabetic rats for 28 days showed beneficial pharmacodynamic interactions whereas no major alterations in the pharmacokinetics parameters of GLM and GMG were observed, implying that significant clinical outcome might occur during concomitant administration.
Journal ArticleDOI

Development and biological evaluation of Gymnema sylvestre extract-loaded nonionic surfactant-based niosomes

TL;DR: The niosome formulation demonstrated significant blood glucose level reduction in an oral glucose tolerance test, and increased antihyperglycemic activity compared with the parent extract in an alloxan-induced diabetic model, justifying the potential of niosomes for improving the efficacy of G. sylvestre extract as antidiabetic.
Journal Article

In vivo anticancer activity of Clerodendrum serratum (L) moon.

TL;DR: The study revealed that methanolic extract exhibit significant anticancer activity as compared to aqueous extract.
