Synthesis of copper pillared bentonite ferrioxalate catalyst for degradation of 4-nitrophenol in visible light assisted Fenton process
TL;DR: In this article, a copper pillared bentonite catalyst (CuPBC) was developed from ferrioxalate complex and copper plated bentonite (CuPB) for treating 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) pollution.
Journal ArticleDOI
Utilization of crude karanj (Pongamia pinnata) oil as a potential feedstock for the synthesis of fatty acid methyl esters.
TL;DR: The fatty acids profile of the oil and the different reactivities of the acids were responsible for the observed differences in conversion to methyl esters and might contribute to the economic utilization of a non-edible feedstock.
Journal ArticleDOI
Enhancement of the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 by doping it with calcium ions
U.G. Akpan,B.H. Hameed +1 more
TL;DR: The activities of the catalysts were evaluated by photocatalytic degradation of an azo dye, acid red 1 (AR1), using UV light irradiation, and the results revealed that the samples calcined at 300 °C for 3.6h in a cyclic (2 cycles) mode had the best performance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preparation of activated carbon by microwave heating of langsat (Lansium domesticum) empty fruit bunch waste.
K.Y. Foo,B.H. Hameed +1 more
TL;DR: The findings revealed the potential to prepare high quality activated carbon from langsat empty fruit bunch waste by microwave irradiation.
Journal ArticleDOI
NaY zeolite from wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) straw ash used for the adsorption of tetracycline
TL;DR: In this article, wheat straw ash was used as a precursor for the synthesis of NaY zeolite, which is used as an efficient adsorbent for the treatment of antibiotic pollutants in wastewater.
