Perioperative Chemotherapy Compared With Surgery Alone for Resectable Gastroesophageal Adenocarcinoma: An FNCLCC and FFCD Multicenter Phase III Trial

TL;DR: In patients with resectable adenocarcinoma of the lower esophagus, GEJ, or stomach, perioperative chemotherapy using fluorouracil plus cisplatin significantly increased the curative resection rate, disease-free survival, and OS.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transanal endoscopic proctectomy: an innovative procedure for difficult resection of rectal tumors in men with narrow pelvis.

TL;DR: The transanal endoscopic proctectomy is a feasible alternative surgical option to conventional laparoscopy for radical rectal resection in selected cases with unfavorable characteristics, and further investigations with larger cohorts are required to validate its safety and to clarify its best indication.
Journal ArticleDOI

Final results of a randomized trial comparing preoperative 5-fluorouracil (F)/cisplatin (P) to surgery alone in adenocarcinoma of stomach and lower esophagus (ASLE): FNLCC ACCORD07-FFCD 9703 trial

TL;DR: The trial was designed to evaluate the impact on survival of 2-month follow-up of the combination of 5FU in continuous infusion and cisplatin (FP) in patients with advanced ASLE.
Journal ArticleDOI

Impact of neoadjuvant chemotherapy cycles prior to interval surgery in patients with advanced epithelial ovarian cancer.

TL;DR: This study reinforces the concept of early and complete removal of all macroscopic tumors in the therapeutic sequence of EOC by evaluating the impact on survival of the number of neoadjuvant chemotherapy cycles before IDS in EOC patients.
Journal ArticleDOI

Total laparoscopic radical hysterectomy for locally advanced cervical carcinoma (stages IIB, IIA and bulky stages IB) after concurrent chemoradiation therapy: surgical morbidity and oncological results.

TL;DR: For these patients, TLRH compared with ARH was associated with favorable surgical outcome with comparable oncological results, and TLRH after preoperative CRT is feasible for patients with locally advanced cervical cancer in 85% of the cases.
