Efficient and Eco‐Friendly Process for the Synthesis of Bis(1H‐indol‐3‐yl)methanes using Ionic Liquids

TL;DR: Indoles react smoothly with carbonyl compounds in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([bmim]BF4] or 1- butyl- 3methyloridazolate hexafluorophosphate ([bmIM]PF6) ionic liquids under mild reaction conditions to afford the corresponding bis-indolylmethanes in excellent yields.
Journal ArticleDOI

Iodine/MeOH: a novel and efficient reagent system for thiocyanation of aromatics and heteroaromatics

TL;DR: Indoles, pyrroles, oxindoles, and aromatic amino compounds undergo smooth thiocyanation with ammonium thIocyanate in the presence of molecular iodine in methanol under mild conditions to afford the corresponding 3-indolyl, 2-pyrrolyl and 4-aryl thIOCyanates, respectively, in excellent yields with high selectivity as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Zr4+-Catalyzed Efficient Synthesis of α-Aminophosphonates

TL;DR: Aldimines undergo nucleophilic addition with diethyl phosphite in the presence of a catalytic amount of zirconium tetrachloride at ambient temperature to afford the corresponding -aminophosphonates in high yields with high selectivity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Recyclable 2nd generation ionic liquids as green solvents for the oxidation of alcohols with hypervalent iodine reagents

TL;DR: The recovery of the byproduct iodosobenzoic acid (IBA) is especially simple in ionic liquids and can be recycled in subsequent reactions with consistent activity as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microwave-assisted rapid synthesis of the cytotoxic alkaloid luotonin A

TL;DR: In this paper, the total synthesis of the cytotoxic alkaloid luotonin A has been achieved for the first time in high yields by cyclocondensation of 3-oxo-1H-pyrrolo[3,4-b]quinoline with isatoic anhydride in solvent-free conditions under microwave irradiation.
