Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of embryo yield and pregnancy rate between in vivo and in vitro methods in the same Nelore (Bos indicus) donor cows.
J.H.F. Pontes,I. Nonato-Junior,B. V. Sanches,J.C. Ereno-Junior,S. Uvo,Thales Ricardo Rigo Barreiros,Jose A. Puppim de Oliveira,J.F. Hasler,Marcelo Marcondes Seneda +8 more
TL;DR: In Nelore cows, with an interval of 15 d between OPU procedures, it was possible to produce more embryos and pregnancies compared to conventional MOET, and total embryo production and pregnancy rates were assessed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Large-scale in vitro embryo production and pregnancy rates from Bos taurus, Bos indicus, and indicus-taurus dairy cows using sexed sperm
J.H.F. Pontes,K. C. F. Silva,Andrea Basso,A. G. Rigo,Christina R. Ferreira,G. M. G. Santos,B. V. Sanches,J. P. F. Porcionato,P. H. S. Vieira,F.S. Faifer,F. A. M. Sterza,John Schenk,Marcelo Marcondes Seneda +12 more
TL;DR: Oocyte yield from two levels of indicus-taurus breeds is compared and the efficiency of sexed sperm for in vitro embryo production is demonstrated and the potential for international movement of embryos is demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ovum pick up, in vitro embryo production, and pregnancy rates from a large-scale commercial program using Nelore cattle (Bos indicus) donors.
J.H.F. Pontes,F.A. Melo Sterza,Andrea Basso,Christina R. Ferreira,B. V. Sanches,K.C.P. Rubin,Marcelo Marcondes Seneda +6 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that individual variation in oocyte yield is associated with embryo production and pregnancy rates and there was no significant effect of the number of OPU sessions per donor on mean numbers of oocytes produced.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cryosurvival and pregnancy rates after exposure of IVF-derived Bos indicus embryos to forskolin before vitrification.
B. V. Sanches,L. S. R. Marinho,Benedito Dias de Oliveira Filho,J.H.F. Pontes,Andrea Basso,M. L. G. Meirinhos,K. C. Silva-Santos,Christina R. Ferreira,Marcelo Marcondes Seneda +8 more
TL;DR: Treatment with forskolin before vitrification improved cryotolerance of Bos indicus IVP embryos, resulting in good post-transfer pregnancy rates.
Journal ArticleDOI
A new direct transfer protocol for cryopreserved IVF embryos.
B. V. Sanches,Paula Alvares Lunardelli,Juliana Hayashi Tannura,Bruna Lopes Cardoso,M. H. C. Pereira,Douglas Gaitkoski,Andrea Cristina Basso,D. R. Arnold,Marcelo Marcondes Seneda +8 more
TL;DR: Comparing the pregnancy rates for fresh, vitrified, or frozen/directly transferred IVP dairy cow embryos found that the use of frozen embryos in direct transfer provides easier logistics and a more practical approach for the transfer of IVP embryos on dairy farms.
