Managing the health effects of climate change

TL;DR: Although vector-borne diseases will expand their reach and death tolls, especially among elderly people, will increase because of heatwaves, the indirect effects of climate change on water, food security, and extreme climatic events are likely to have the biggest effect on global health.
Journal ArticleDOI

Improved method for quantifying levoglucosan and related monosaccharide anhydrides in atmospheric aerosols and application to samples from urban and tropical locations.

TL;DR: An improved analytical method was developed and validated for the determination of the monosaccharide anhydrides levoglucosan, mannosan, and galactosan in atmospheric aerosol samples, which accounted for about 5.1% and 1.8% of the organic carbon in the Brazilian dry season and Gent winter aerosols, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of embryo yield and pregnancy rate between in vivo and in vitro methods in the same Nelore (Bos indicus) donor cows.

TL;DR: In Nelore cows, with an interval of 15 d between OPU procedures, it was possible to produce more embryos and pregnancies compared to conventional MOET, and total embryo production and pregnancy rates were assessed.
