Ultra-stable nanoparticles of CdSe revealed from mass spectrometry

TL;DR: Similar mass spectra and atomic structures in CdS, CdTe, ZnS and ZnSe are found, demonstrating that mass-specified and macroscopically produced nanoparticles, which have been practically limited so far to elemental carbon1, can now be extended to a vast variety of compound systems.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mixed spinel structure in nanocrystalline NiFe 2 O 4

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the core of a spinel has a canted structure and the canting angle increases with grain size reduction due to the magnetocrystalline anisotropy introduced by the occupancy of the ions in the tetrahedral sites.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of length on cytotoxicity of multi-walled carbon nanotubes against human acute monocytic leukemia cell line THP-1 in vitro and subcutaneous tissue of rats in vivo

TL;DR: The activation of the human acute monocytic leukemia cell line THP-1 in vitro and the response in subcutaneous tissue in vivo to CNTs of different lengths are investigated and results indicated that the degree of inflammation around 825-C NTs was stronger than that around 220-CNTs since macrophages could envelop 220- cNTs more readily.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of zinc substitution on Co–Zn and Mn–Zn ferrite nanoparticles prepared by co-precipitation

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of variation in the Zn substitution and its impact on particle size, magnetic properties like MS, HC, Curie temperature, thermomagnetic coefficient and associated water content was investigated.
