Journal ArticleDOI

Sources of heavy metals and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in urban stormwater runoff.

TL;DR: Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and heavy metals were measured in road debris collecting in urban areas and in the suspended sediment component of runoff from two stormwater catchments in Dunedin, New Zealand, suggesting that a disused gasworks was contributing PAHs to the stormwater runoff.
Journal ArticleDOI

Disposal practices for unused medications around the world.

TL;DR: It is concluded that it is of paramount importance that a formalized protocol for patient disposal and destruction of pharmaceuticals be implemented around the world.
Journal ArticleDOI

Photochemically induced changes in dissolved organic matter identified by ultrahigh resolution fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry.

TL;DR: The UV/vis absorbance and EEM fluorescence results supported this different photodegradation behavior, suggesting that the photoreactivity of CDOM is highly dependent on the molecular composition of the CDOM.
Journal ArticleDOI

Free Radical Destruction of β-Blockers in Aqueous Solution

TL;DR: In this article, the absolute rate constants for reaction of three β-blockers (atenolol, metoprolol, and propranolol) with the two major AO/RP radicals; the hydroxyl radical (•OH) and hydrated electron (e−aq).
