Journal ArticleDOI
A comprehensive review of carbon footprint analysis as an extended environmental indicator in the wine sector
TL;DR: In this article, a critical review pursues several methodological and conceptual issues behind wine carbon footprinting, such as calculation approaches, labeling and standardization purposes, combinations with other methods and theories, and CF trends in the wine sector.
Journal ArticleDOI
A review of urban metabolism studies to identify key methodological choices for future harmonization and implementation
Didier Beloin-Saint-Pierre,Benedetto Rugani,Sébastien Lasvaux,Adélaïde Mailhac,Emil Popovici,Galdric Sibiude,Enrico Benetto,Nicoleta Schiopu +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors surveyed past and current publications to identify key methodological aspects that could be favored to harmonize the sustainability assessment of urban metabolism, and suggested that a network system modeling approach, a global life-cycle perspective, and a multi-criteria assessment are strategic choices for environmental sustainability assessment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nexus between nature-based solutions, ecosystem services and urban challenges
Javier Babí Almenar,Javier Babí Almenar,Thomas Elliot,Benedetto Rugani,Bodénan Philippe,Tomás Navarrete Gutiérrez,Guido Sonnemann,Davide Geneletti +7 more
TL;DR: This paper systematically identifies nexuses (i.e. qualitative links) between UC, ES and NBS, and describes plausible causal relationships, to further understand UC-ES-NBS relationships.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of COVID-19 outbreak measures of lockdown on the Italian Carbon Footprint.
Benedetto Rugani,Dario Caro +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a comprehensive estimation of environmental effects due to the COVID-19 outbreak lockdown measures in Italy is provided, where the authors quantify the CF associated with the consumption of energy by any economic activity and region in Italy during the lockdown, and then compare these environmental burdens with the CF calculated for analogous periods from 2015 to 2019 (~March and April).
Journal ArticleDOI
Improvements to Emergy evaluations by using Life Cycle Assessment.
Benedetto Rugani,Enrico Benetto +1 more
TL;DR: Whereas Emergy rules must be adapted to life-cycle structures, LCA should enlarge its inventory to give Emergy a broader computational framework.
