Journal ArticleDOI
Infliximab plus azathioprine for steroid-dependent Crohn's disease patients: a randomized placebo-controlled trial.
Marc Lémann,Jean Yves Mary,Bernard Duclos,Michel Veyrac,Jean Louis Dupas,Jean Charles Delchier,David Laharie,Jacques Moreau,Guillaume Cadiot,Laurence Picon,Arnaud Bourreille,Iradj Sobahni,Jean-Frederic Colombel +12 more
TL;DR: Infliximab plus AZA/6-MP is more effective than AZA or 6-mercaptopurine alone in steroid-dependent Crohn's disease patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
A randomized, double-blind, controlled withdrawal trial in Crohn's disease patients in long-term remission on azathioprine.
Marc Lémann,Jean-Yves Mary,Jean-Frederic Colombel,Bernard Duclos,Soulé Jc,Eric Lerebours,Robert Modigliani,Yoram Bouhnik +7 more
TL;DR: This study shows that azathioprine withdrawal is not equivalent to continued therapy with azathyprine for maintenance of remission in patients with Crohn's disease who have been in remission on azithioprine for > or = 3.5 years.
Journal ArticleDOI
Risk of Colorectal High-Grade Dysplasia and Cancer in a Prospective Observational Cohort of Patients With Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Laurent Beaugerie,Magali Svrcek,Philippe Seksik,Anne Marie Bouvier,Tabassome Simon,Matthieu Allez,Hedia Brixi,Jean Marc Gornet,Romain Altwegg,Philippe Beau,Bernard Duclos,Arnaud Bourreille,Jean Faivre,Laurent Peyrin Biroulet,Jean François Fléjou,Fabrice Carrat +15 more
TL;DR: Patients with IBD and long-standing extensive colitis are at increased risk for CRC, although the risk is lower among patients receiving thiopurine therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Increased production of tumour necrosis factor-alpha interleukin-1 beta, and interleukin-6 by morphologically normal intestinal biopsies from patients with Crohn's disease.
Jean-Marie Reimund,C. Wittersheim,Dumont S,Christian D. Muller,J S Kenney,René Baumann,P. Poindron,Bernard Duclos +7 more
TL;DR: These consistently raised TNF-alpha, IL-1 beta and IL-6 secretions by normal appearing mucosa from patients with Crohn's disease provide evidence for a sustained immune stimulation in Crohn't disease even in the absence of patent inflammation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mucosal inflammatory cytokine production by intestinal biopsies in patients with ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease
Jean-Marie Reimund,C. Wittersheim,Dumont S,Christian D. Muller,René Baumann,P. Poindron,Bernard Duclos +6 more
TL;DR: Organ cultures of involved IBD mucosa spontaneously produced increased amounts of TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6 compared to normal mucosa, and increased inflammatory cytokine production by lamina propria mononuclear cells and mucosa treated with EDTA suggests that these cytokines originate mainly from LPMCs.
