The influence of cigarette smoking on human sperm quality and DNA fragmentation.
Sandrine Sepaniak,Thierry Forges,Hubert Gérard,Bernard Foliguet,Marie-Christine Béné,Patricia Monnier-Barbarino +5 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that cigarette smoking may have deleterious effects on sperm nuclear quality and that sperm DNA fragmentation can therefore be considered as an independent parameter with diagnostic, prognostic, and strategic value in the treatment of infertility.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact négatif du tabac sur la fertilité masculine : des spermatozoïdes à la descendance
S. Sepaniak,T. Forges,B. Fontaine,H. Gerard,Bernard Foliguet,F. Guillet-May,A. Zaccabri,P. Monnier-Barbarino +7 more
TL;DR: Le stress oxydatif genere par le tabac semble etre l’une des principales causes d’alteration de la qualite des spermatozoides, entrainant essentiellement une fragmentation de leur ADN.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of fibrosis in the Disse space in noncirrhotic alcoholic liver disease
Philippe Robert,Bruno Champigneulle,Isabelle Kreher,Jean-Louis Guéant,Bernard Foliguet,Jean-Marc Dollet,Marc-André Bigard,Pierre Gaucher +7 more
TL;DR: The laminin P1 blood level seemed to be a good biological marker for detection of liver fibrosis in long-term alcoholic intake.
Journal ArticleDOI
Vitamin B-12 and liver activity and expression of methionine synthase are decreased in fetuses with neural tube defects.
Ma'atem B Fofou-Caillierez,Rosa-Maria Guéant-Rodriguez,Jean-Marc Alberto,Céline Chéry,Thomas Josse,Philippe Gerard,Thierry Forges,Bernard Foliguet,François Feillet,Jean-Louis Guéant +9 more
TL;DR: The decreased vitamin B-12 in liver and cord blood and decreased expression and activity of MS in liver point out the impaired remethylation pathway as hallmarks associated with NTD risk.
Journal ArticleDOI
La vitalité des spermatozoïdes
TL;DR: Most of the numerous techniques used to assess sperm viability only have research applications, while only two classical tests, i.e. eosin-Y and hypo-osmotic swelling test (HOST), are currently used in routine sperm analysis to determine the percentage of viable sperm.
