Incidence, Patterns, and Impact of Dual Antiplatelet Therapy Cessation Among Patients With and Without Chronic Kidney Disease Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: Results From the PARIS Registry (Patterns of Non-Adherence to Anti-Platelet Regimens in Stented Patients).
Usman Baber,Shawn X. Li,Rebecca Pinnelas,Stuart J. Pocock,Mitchell W. Krucoff,Cono Ariti,C. Michael Gibson,Philippe Gabriel Steg,Giora Weisz,Bernhard Witzenbichler,Timothy D. Henry,Annapoorna Kini,Thomas Stuckey,David Cohen,Ioannis Iakovou,George Dangas,Melissa Aquino,Samantha Sartori,Alaide Chieffo,David J. Moliterno,Antonio Colombo,Roxana Mehran +21 more
TL;DR: In this paper, patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) experience high rates of ischemic and bleeding events after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), complicating decisions surrounding dual a...
Journal ArticleDOI
Incidence, predictors, and outcomes of DAPT disruption due to non-compliance vs. bleeding after PCI: insights from the PARIS Registry
Kamilia Moalem,Usman Baber,Jaya Chandrasekhar,Bimmer E. Claessen,Samantha Sartori,Melissa Aquino,George Dangas,Ioannis Iakovou,Antonio Colombo,A. Kini,Michael C. Gibson,Mitchell W. Krucoff,Alaide Chieffo,David Moliterno,Bernhard Witzenbichler,Stuart J. Pocock,Roxana Mehran +16 more
TL;DR: Disruption due to non- compliance resulted in higher risk for ischemic events and disruption due to bleeding had higher subsequent mortality, and data warrant efforts to focus on patient education in those at high risk of non-compliance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of gender on patterns of dual antiplatelet therapy cessation and non-adherence: one-year results from the patterns of non-adherence to anti-platelet regimens in stented patients (paris), an observational single-arm study
Nilusha Gukathasan,Bernhard Witzenbichler,Giora Weisz,Timothy Henry,Antonio Colombo,Usman Baber,Alaide Chieffo,C. Michael Gibson,Raj Vadde,Pushpam Bharathi,Samantha Sartori,Annapoorna Kini,Annamaria Iakovou,Mitchell W. Krucoff,Philippe Gabriel Steg,Roxana Mehran +15 more
TL;DR: Study has shown women to have higher rates of adverse events after PCI, and whether this increased risk is attributable to DAPT cessation is not known.
