Journal ArticleDOI

Zinc fingers, zinc clusters, and zinc twists in DNA-binding protein domains

TL;DR: In this paper, three distinct motifs of DNA-binding zinc proteins are recognized: zinc fingers, zinc clusters, and zinc twists, and the structural and functional significance of these motifs in their binding to DNA and other proteins participating in the transmission of the genetic message will become apparent.
Journal ArticleDOI

New human liver alcohol dehydrogenase forms with unique kinetic characteristics

TL;DR: Although the physical characteristics of the new anodic ADH forms are similar to those of the known human ADH isoenzymes, the former are not inhibited by 12 mM 4-methyl pyrazole, oxidize ethanol very poorly and appear to prefer longer chain alcohols as substrates.
Journal ArticleDOI

Short and long spacer sequences and other structural features of zinc binding sites in zinc enzymes.

TL;DR: Metalloenzyme; Metalloproteinase; Zinc; Amino acid spacer sequence; Aminosine; Aminophosphorus; zinc; Metalloenzyme ; Metallop Proteinase ; and Zinc.
