Interaction of low-frequency axisymmetric ultrasonic guided waves with bends in pipes of arbitrary bend angle and general bend radius.
TL;DR: This work uses 3D Finite Element (FE) simulation to understand the propagation of fundamental axisymmetric L(0,2) mode across bends of different angles φ, and shows that as the bend angle is reduced, a progressively larger extent of mode-conversion affects the transmission and velocity characteristics of the L(1,1) mode.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Studies on the influence of axial bends on ultrasonic guided waves in hollow cylinders (pipes)
TL;DR: In this article, a 3D finite element (FE) simulation is used to illumine the propagation of fundamental guided pipe modes across bends of several different angles φ and bend radius regimes, exemplifying "sharp" and gradual or "slow" bends.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development of Texture Mapping Approaches for Additively Manufacturable Surfaces
TL;DR: In this article , a patch-based sampling texture synthesis algorithm is proposed to include texture directly on the CAD model of a target surface using a patchbased sampling technique, which can be manufactured using additive manufacturing (AM).
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Surface Crack Sizing Method Using Rayleigh Waves Generated by Ultrasonic Phased Arrays
Bhupesh Verma,Pierre Belanger +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors presented a method to measure the depth of surface breaking electrical discharged machined (EDM) notches using Rayleigh waves excited and received through conventional ultrasonic phased array probes.
