Simple Fabrication of Concrete with Remarkable Self-Cleaning Ability, Robust Superhydrophobicity, Tailored Porosity, and Highly Thermal and Sound Insulation

TL;DR: In this contribution, self-cleaning concrete was one-step achieved through the combination of liquid template pore-forming and in-situ bulk hydrophobic modification, which qualified the sample remarkable stain repellency and long-term stability.
Journal ArticleDOI

Polymer-derived porous SiOC ceramic membranes for efficient oil-water separation and membrane distillation

TL;DR: Porous SiOC ceramic membranes (PSCM), with a narrow pore size distribution, were prepared by a casting method, using a polymer liquid (polydimethylsiloxane, PDMS), as a pore-forming agent, and a pre-ceramic liquid, PSO, followed by pyrolysis at 1200°C in flowing Ar gas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fabrication of low thermal conductivity yttrium silicate ceramic flat membrane for membrane distillation

TL;DR: In this paper, a single-phase γ-Y2Si2O7 powder was first synthesized by calcination of SiO2 and Y2O3 powders, with 3 wt% LiYO2 as a sintering aid.
Journal ArticleDOI

Porous Al2O3 plates prepared by combing foaming and gel-tape casting methods for efficient collection of oil from water

TL;DR: In this article, a fabrication approach of porous Al2O3 plates (PAP), which combines foaming and gel-tape-casting methods, was presented, which absorbed various kinds of oils rapidly, with space utilization >98%, while the absorbed oil was readily collected by simply being poured out or gas blown.
