Skin detection in video under changing illumination conditions
TL;DR: It is shown that skin detection in video can be enhanced by exploiting the knowledge of the range of possible skin colours for the camera used, and developed an adaptive histogram backprojection technique where the skin colour model is updated by pixels in the search region which fall in the skin locus.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Review of Optical Nondestructive Visual and Near-Infrared Methods for Food Quality and Safety
TL;DR: The main goal of this paper is to provide a general view of work done according to different FAO food classes, using optical VIS/NIR spectroscopy to better meet market and consumer needs for high-quality food stuff.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adaptive skin color modeling using the skin locus for selecting training pixels
TL;DR: A chromaticity-based constraint is demonstrated to select training pixels in a scene for updating a dynamic skin color model under changing illumination conditions to be more consistent with manually extracted ground truth skin model per frame even as localization errors increase.
Journal ArticleDOI
Using microalgae to produce liquid transportation biodiesel: What is next?
Liandong Zhu,Liandong Zhu,Y.K. Nugroho,Shah Rukh Shakeel,Zhaohua Li,Birgitta Martinkauppi,Erkki Hiltunen +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss the latest advances in liquid transportation biodiesel production from microalgal biomass, including micro algal growth, biomass harvesting and drying, lipid extraction and biodiesel conversion.
Face colour under varying illumination - analysis and applications
TL;DR: It was demonstrated that the skin colour model can be used to segment faces and the segmentation results depend on the background due to the method used, and the performances of these adaptive algorithms were superior compared to those using a fixed skin color model or model adaptation based on spatial pixel selection.
