Journal ArticleDOI

Groundwater interaction in the coastal environment : hydrochemical, electrical and seismic approaches

TL;DR: In this article, a geophysical approach was used to determine the principal aquifer levels, the localization of the various types of water (fresh, brackish and salt) and the geometry of the aquifer base.
Journal ArticleDOI

Overexploitation and continuous drought effects on groundwater yield and marine intrusion: considerations arising from the modelling of Mamora coastal aquifer, Morocco

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the effect of drought and pumping discharge on groundwater supplies and marine intrusion in the Mamora coastal aquifer, northwest of Morocco, and established a large-scale groundwater model to model the amount of freshwater discharge towards the ocean and the sea water volumes flowing inland as a consequence of the inverse hydraulic gradient.
Journal ArticleDOI

Assessing groundwater contamination risk using the DASTI/IDRISI GIS method: coastal system of western Mamora, Morocco

TL;DR: In this paper, the DASTI method was used to evaluate vulnerability to groundwater pollution in the vicinity of Rabat, western Morocco and a susceptibility map was prepared based on land use and the vulnerability index map.
Journal Article

Hydrochemical and bacteriological features of the groundwater: southern border of the Rharb basin (Morocco)

TL;DR: In this article, the spatial distribution of physico-chemical parameters in the groundwater, subjected to domestic, industrial and agricultural pollution, was analyzed for several parameters (Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, K+, Cl−, SO4 2−, HCO3−, NO3 −, pH, electrical conductivity and temperature).
Journal ArticleDOI

Hydrochemical and bacteriological features of the groundwater: southern border of the Rharb basin (Morocco) / Caractérisation hydrochimique et bactériologique des eaux souterraines: bordure méridionale du bassin du Rharb (Maroc)

TL;DR: The physico-chemical results and bacteriological monitoring show that the nitrate and bacteria concentrations exceed the maximum admissible levels, notably around pumping stations in the sectors of Sidi Taibi, Sidi Ahmed Taleb and Aïn Sbaâ.
