Statistical evidence for common ancestry: Application to primates

TL;DR: A diversity of statistical methods using data from the primates are explored, including one that tests for phylogenetic autocorrelation while correcting for variation due to confounding ecological traits and a method for examining whether fossil taxa have fewer derived differences than living taxa.
Journal ArticleDOI

An assessment of transgenomics as a tool for identifying genes involved in the evolutionary differentiation of closely related plant species.

TL;DR: 11_11B can be viewed as a potential speciation gene, illustrating the value of transgenomics for studying the molecular basis of reproductive isolation and methods to reduce false positives and false negatives in the future.
Journal ArticleDOI

A multi-functional analyzer uses parameter constraints to improve the efficiency of model-based gene-set analysis

TL;DR: In this paper, a model-based methodology for integrating gene-set information with an experimentally-derived gene list is developed, which takes advantage of natural constraints in the high-dimensional discrete parameter space in order to work from a more structured prior distribution than is currently available.
