MR Imaging of Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis Patients Using Ultra-Small-Particle Iron Oxide and Compared with Gadolinium
Vincent Dousset,Bruno Brochet,Mathilde Deloire,L. Lagoarde,B. Barroso,Jean-Marie Caille,Klaus G. Petry +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a prospective MR imaging study of 10 patients with MS in acute relapses was achieved by using ultra-smallparticle iron oxide (USPIO) and gadolinium.
ORIGINAL RESEARCH MR Imaging of Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis Patients Using Ultra-Small-Particle Iron Oxide and Compared with Gadolinium
TL;DR: The visualization of macrophage activity in vivo with USPIO characterize a distinct cellular and inflammatory event of the dynamic process of MS lesion formation, complementary to the increased BBB permeability seen with gadolinium.
Journal ArticleDOI
Primary and transitional progressive MS: a clinical and MRI cross-sectional study.
Valerie L. Stevenson,DH Miller,Marco Rovaris,Frederik Barkhof,Bruno Brochet,Vincent Dousset,Massimo Filippi,Xavier Montalban,Chris H. Polman,Alex Rovira,J. De Sa,Alan J. Thompson +11 more
TL;DR: The monitoring of disease progression in PPMS is difficult, although measures of atrophy correlate with the EDSS and appear most promising, which increases the understanding of this unique patient group, which will be further expanded with the acquisition of serial data.
Journal ArticleDOI
How to detect cognitive dysfunction at early stages of multiple sclerosis
TL;DR: Since, at this stage, patients’ cognitive complaints are already influenced by depression and fatigue and do not accurately reflect cognitive performances, the SDMT may help to select patients for testing with a more complete cognitive battery.
Journal ArticleDOI
Unexpected multiple sclerosis: follow-up of 30 patients with magnetic resonance imaging and clinical conversion profile
Christine Lebrun,C. Bensa,Marc Debouverie,J. de Seze,S Wiertlievski,Bruno Brochet,Pierre Clavelou,David Brassat,Pierre Labauge,E Roullet +9 more
TL;DR: A descriptive retrospective study of clinical and 5 year MRI follow-up in patients with subclinical demyelinating lesions fulfilling MRI Barkhof–Tintoré criteria with a normal neurological examination, which is the first cohort of CIS with preclinical follow- up.
