Journal ArticleDOI
Twenty-Eight-Day Oral Toxicity, Genotoxicity, and Gender-Related Tissue Distribution of Silver Nanoparticles in Sprague-Dawley Rats
Yong Soon Kim,Jin Sik Kim,Hyun Sun Cho,Dae Sik Rha,Jae Min Kim,Jung Duck Park,Byung-Sun Choi,Ruth Lim,Hee Kyung Chang,Yong Hyun Chung,Il Hoon Kwon,Jayoung Jeong,Beom Seok Han,Il Je Yu +13 more
TL;DR: The present results suggest that silver nanoparticles do not induce genetic toxicity in male and female rat bone marrow in vivo, and the tissue distribution of silver nanopaticles did show a dose-dependent accumulation of silver content in all the tissues examined.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dietary iron regulates intestinal cadmium absorption through iron transporters in rats.
TL;DR: The correlation between duodenal DMT1 and MTP1 expression and Cd body burden in rats suggests an important role of DMT/MTP1 in Cd absorption.
Journal ArticleDOI
A randomized trial of Lactobacillus plantarum CJLP133 for the treatment of atopic dermatitis.
Youngshin Han,Bongjoon Kim,Jeongsook Ban,Jeong-Ok Lee,Beom Joon Kim,Byung-Sun Choi,Sehee Hwang,Kangmo Ahn,Ji Hyun Kim +8 more
TL;DR: Whether the oral administration of Lactobacillus plantarum CJLP133 improves pediatric AD is examined to examine whether the therapeutic effects of probiotics are improved.
Journal ArticleDOI
Regulation of metal transporters by dietary iron, and the relationship between body iron levels and cadmium uptake
Dong-Won Kim,Ki Young Kim,Byung-Sun Choi,Pilju Youn,Doug Young Ryu,Curtis D. Klaassen,Jung-Duck Park +6 more
TL;DR: Depletion of the body Fe stores dramatically upregulated DMT1 and MTP1 mRNA expression in the duodenum as well as moderately upregulating their expression in several other peripheral tissues, suggesting they may play an important role in not only maintaining Fe levels but also facilitating the accumulation of Cd in the body of mammals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reference levels of blood mercury and association with metabolic syndrome in Korean adults.
Sang-Yong Eom,Sun-Hee Choi,Su-Ju Ahn,Dongkyeong Kim,Dong-Won Kim,Ji-Ae Lim,Byung-Sun Choi,Hye-Jung Shin,Sin-Weon Yun,Hae-Jung Yoon,Yu-Mi Kim,Young-Seoub Hong,Yong-Woon Yun,Seok-Joon Sohn,Heon Kim,Kyung-Su Park,Heesoo Pyo,Ho Kim,Se-Young Oh,Jeongseon Kim,Sang-Ah Lee,Mina Ha,Ho-Jang Kwon,Jung-Duck Park +23 more
TL;DR: The blood Hg level in Korean adults is higher than that in USA and other Western countries, while it is similar to or lower than thatin other Asian countries, influenced by sociodemographic factors and individual lifestyles including dietary habits.
