Voiding Dysfunction CHANGES IN BRAIN ACTIVITY FOLLOWING SACRAL NEUROMODULATION FOR URINARY RETENTION
TL;DR: This study provides novel neuroimaging evidence for the existence of abnormal interaction between brainstem and cortical centers in women with urinary retention and shows evidence that the therapeutic effect of sacral neuromodulation is achieved through restoration of activity associated with brainstem autoregulation and attenuation of cingulate activity.
Journal ArticleDOI
The role of neuromodulation in the management of urinary urge incontinence.
Paul Abrams,Jerry G. Blaivas,C. J. Fowler,J.L. Fourcroy,S.A. Macdiarmid,Steven Siegel,P. Van Kerrebroeck +6 more
TL;DR: A group of urologists have analysed outcome measures from all patients in pivotal clinical trials who have had sacral nerve stimulation, and have suggested that sacrals nerve stimulation has an vital role in the management of refractory overactive bladder and retention problems.
Journal ArticleDOI
