Nuclear symmetry energy and neutron skins derived from pygmy dipole resonances
A. Klimkiewicz,Nils Paar,P. Adrich,M. Fallot,K. Boretzky,Thomas Aumann,D. Cortina-Gil,U. Datta Pramanik,Th. W. Elze,H. Emling,Hans Geissel,Margareta Hellström,K. L. Jones,J. V. Kratz,R. Kulessa,C. Nociforo,R. Palit,Herbert A. Simon,G. Surówka,K. Sümmerer,Dario Vretenar,W. Waluś +21 more
TL;DR: By exploiting Coulomb dissociation of high-energy radioactive beams of the neutron-rich nuclei, their dipole-strength distributions have been measured as mentioned in this paper, and a sizable fraction of ''pygmy'' dipole strength, energetically located below the giant dipole resonance, is observed in all of these nuclei.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evidence for Pygmy and Giant Dipole Resonances in Sn 130 and Sn 132
P. Adrich,A. Klimkiewicz,M. Fallot,K. Boretzky,Thomas Aumann,D. Cortina-Gil,U. Datta Pramanik,Th. W. Elze,H. Emling,Hans Geissel,Margareta Hellström,K. L. Jones,J. V. Kratz,R. Kulessa,Y. Leifels,C. Nociforo,R. Palit,Herbert A. Simon,G. Surówka,K. Sümmerer,W. Waluś +20 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the dipole strength distribution above the one-neutron separation energy was measured in the unstable and double-magic Sn isotopes, and the results were deduced from Coulomb dissociation of secondary Sn beams with energies around.
Journal ArticleDOI
Coulomb breakup of 23O
C. Nociforo,K. L. Jones,Le Hong Khiem,P. Adrich,Thomas Aumann,B. V. Carlson,D. Cortina-Gil,U. Datta Pramanik,Th. W. Elze,H. Emling,Hans Geissel,Margareta Hellström,J. V. Kratz,R. Kulessa,T. Lange,Y. Leifels,H. Lenske,E. Lubkiewicz,G. Münzenberg,R. Palit,Heiko Scheit,Herbert A. Simon,K. Sümmerer,Stefan Typel,E. Wajda,W. Walus,Helmut Weick +26 more
TL;DR: The ground state structure of the near-drip-line nucleus 23O has been investigated in a one-neutron Coulomb breakup reaction as discussed by the authors, and the analysis of the deduced dipole-transition probability into the continuum infers a 2 s 1 / 2 ⊗ O 22 ( 0 + ) ground state configuration with a spectroscopic factor of 0.77(10) and thus a ground-state spin I π ( O 23 ) = 1/2 +, resolving earlier conflicting experimental findings.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dipole excitations of neutron-proton asymmetric nuclei
R. Palit,P. Adrich,Thomas Aumann,K. Boretzky,D. Cortina,U. Datta Pramanik,Th. W. Elze,H. Emling,M. Fallot,Hans Geissel,K. L. Jones,Le Hong Khiem,J. V. Kratz,R. Kulessa,Y. Leifels,A. Leistenschneider,G. Mu¨nzenberg,C. Nociforo,P. Reiter,Herbert A. Simon,K. Su¨mmerer,W. Walus +21 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors derived the differential cross sections with respect to excitation energy, which are directly related to the photo-absorption cross section and accordingly to the dipole-strength function.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dipole response of neutron-rich Sn isotopes
A. Klimkiewicz,P. Adrich,K. Boretzky,M. Fallot,Thomas Aumann,D. Cortina-Gil,U. Datta Pramanik,Th. W. Elze,H. Emling,Hans Geissel,M. Hellstroem,K. L. Jones,J. V. Kratz,R. Kulessa,Y. Leifels,C. Nociforo,R. Palit,Herbert A. Simon,G. Surówka,K. Sümmerer,Stefan Typel,W. Walus +21 more
TL;DR: In this article, the pygmy dipole resonance (PDR) was studied in a Coulomb excitation experiment at about 500 AMeV using the FRS-LAND setup at GSI.
